THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF REPRESENTATION AGREEMENTS:
REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT SECTION 7 (RA7)
- RA7 has standard powers for legal personal planning, for adults. This document can be helpful for immediate help, whose mental capability is in doubt. A representative agreement under section 7, has limited capacity to appoint the person.

REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT SECTION 9 (RA9)
- RA9 enhanced the powers and gave the border powers to representatives. A representative has the power to deal with the complex matters that belong to the major personal and health care matters.
- Section 9 covers minor and major healthcare decisions for surgeries, tests, and medications for an adult's comfort zone and personal care for living arrangements, diet, dress, and activities.
ADVANCE DIRECTIVES:
Unlike representative agreements in Langley, Surrey, Delta, BC, advance directives do not need to appoint someone for health care, rather you would make the decision itself. These legal documents include written instructions for giving/refusing consent for specific medical interventions. You do need to appoint a person to act on your behalf in the case of medical requirements.
To make the advance directives, you must be capable of understand the health care system, instruction deals, and the consequences of refusing and giving consent to such instructions.
